The Seasonal Qi Gong Series is an ongoing exploration of an unusual concept that is rarely discussed, organic time.
When the Sun shines on the planet in a special angle, huge energy releases from the Earth to mix with the Sun energy and empower everything on the planet, like the energy of four seasons.
Seasonal Qigong is time sensitive, it is practiced by many people at the same time. And a basic rule of Qigong is that the greater the number of people aligning their energies simultaneously, the more robust the Qi field becomes.

Seasonal Empowerment #Qigong is a simple yet effective practice designed to help you leverage the surge of Qi energy at the start of each new jieqi. The basic technique is this: each time a new jieqi begins you focus your attention on a specific vertebra and empower it.
There are 24 practices in the whole series, and each practices are practiced for 15 days.
Seasonal Empowerment are extremely valuable practices as they follow the flow the the universal “organic“ time.
Wishing you Good Qi,
Robert Peng

The Seasonal Empowerment is made up of 2 Different Parts
Part 1 is the empowerment meditation. You begin by concentrating Qi energy into the vertebra associated with the jieqi, and then radiate the energy that you collected throughout your body to nourish your internal organs. Part 1 can be repeated as often as you like until the next jieqi begins.
Part 2 is a movement practice designed to strengthen your spine. The movement pattern changes with each jieqi and each specific movement target the area around the vertebra associated with the current empowerment. Part 2 is not time sensitive. Repeat as often as you like until the next jieqi begins.
China developed its traditional calendar system independently from the West. China has two calendars which are still followed today, one based on the moon and one on the sun.
The suì calendar is based on the sun and uses 24 intervals of 15 or 16 days.

1. Start of Spring
2. Rainwater
Rain Water represents the second stage of Spring. The theme of springtime is new possibilities and the excitement they generate, and over the next fifteen days nature will undergo changes and reveal new qualities that you can awaken in yourself and use to align with the movement of life.
We witnessed the new year standing before us like a pristine field of virgin snow, and now, as we enter the second phase of the year, we are going to mark the ground by taking our first footstep.
We take our cue from the seasonal changes unfolding around us. During Rain Water, you align with nature with the seeds of creativity that lie dormant deep within your psyche. The time is ripe for you to illuminate your mind and realize a new vision that will unfold over the coming year. The theme of Rain Water is the revelation of a new vision and the way to awaken this vision is by practicing total and absolute surrender in the face of the unknown.
The visionary quest is a plunge into unknown depths and this process requires completely letting go. To awaken an authentic vision, find a quiet place, close your eyes, and let yourself dive down into the boundless abyss that leads to the heart of the mind.

The spine is made up of five segments including the coccyx, the lower back (sacral and lumbar spine), the middle and upper back (thoracic spine), and the neck (cervical spine).
The vertebra associated with this empowerment is Lumbar 1 (L1) in the lower back.
Begin by identifying your iliac crest, the topmost part of your hips, and trace a straight line to your spine. That vertebra is L4. Three vertebrae up is L1.
Find L1 now.
SPINAL MEDITATION
Sit comfortably or lie down and relax every part of your body.
- Inhale through all the pores of your skin, collect universal Qi energy and concentrate this energy to L1.
- Exhale and visualize L1 glowing brightly. Continue this breathing patterns 36 times.
- Then, inhale, focus on L1, exhale and visualize the light from L1 spreading throughout your body, to your spine, your bones, and to your internal organs. Repeat 36 times.
- Finally, inhale and collect the light and energy from all over your body into your Lower Dantian which is located three finger widths below your navel in the center of your body.
- Then exhale and concentrate the energy there.
Repeat three times.
- Then, relax, and nourish your Qi, feeling like a sponge soaking in a warm tub of water.
Maintain this state for as long as you want.
3. Awakening of Insects ( Jingzhe )
Awakening of Insects is the third stage of Spring. The theme of springtime is new possibilities and the excitement they generate, and over the next fifteen days, as this seasonal phase unfolds, nature will undergo changes and reveal new qualities that you can awaken in yourself and use to align with the movement of life.
According to Five Element Theory, Spring is associated with the color green, the wood element, the liver, excitement, and anger. Anytime a new project begins, a mood of vibrancy and excitement arises naturally. Picture the energy surrounding a startup venture. According to Chinese medicine, excitement, growth and productivity activate the liver.

The vertebra associated with this empowerment is Thoracic 12 (T12) in the middle back.
Thoracic 12 (T12) is the lowest vertebra on the spine that has a rib attachement. Feel for your lowest rib and trace it back to your spine, that is T12.
Find T12 now.
